Why choose to purchase your General Insurance Policy independently

When you purchase your health insurance plan through an employer, you often receive a written General Insure policy from your employer. You might wonder why your employer would issue you a policy for an amount less than what you would receive if you purchased a policy independently. Often there are many hidden benefits in a General Insure policy that most individuals do not realize they receive until they contact their General Insure provider and request a refund. A refund is considered a free consumer right when a company issues a policy to a person, and many people become very frustrated when they do not receive a refund for a policy they have already purchased. If you purchase a refundable General Insurance Policy from your employer, you will be able to receive your money back if you need a refund, regardless of the reason.

If you choose to purchase your General Insurance Policy independently from your employer, or purchase directly from a discount General Insurance broker, you may still be eligible for discounts. Discounts are available based on many factors including, but not limited to, the amount of coverage you need, the type of vehicle you drive, the age and health of the policy holder, or the type of medical issues covered in the policy. A discount policy may also be available for insuring multiple family members who reside in your home. In order to apply for discounts, you may need to supply your Employer Identification Number (EIN), Social Security Number, or date of birth. If you do not meet the requirements for discounts, you may still qualify for a lower priced policy by contacting your General Insurane Policy provider directly to inquire about discounts available.

Policy holders who are subject to “age-rating” requirements generally pay more in premiums for the same level of insurance coverage as the youngest policy holder. Policy holders who are considered “high risk” may also pay a higher premium amount for the same level of coverage. If your current General Insure policy is ending soon, you may want to request an extension or an increase in coverage to ensure that you will be able to keep the same level of policy while you are waiting for your new policy to take effect. If you are interested in extending or adding coverage to your General Insure policy, you should contact your General Insurane Policy provider for details.
